On 26 June 2019, the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education (BAC) introduced reduced inspection and accreditation fees for middle and low income countries.

Paul Fear, CEO of BAC, comments, “Providers from all countries should have the opportunity to be recognised for the quality of their provision and reducing fees for middle and low income countries will open up access to accreditation for institutions where cost had previously been a barrier. The new price structure demonstrates our commitment to raise the quality standards of independent further and higher education across the globe.”

BAC aims to encourage continuing improvement in the standard and quality of independent further and higher education as well as providing transparency and reassurance to students who must choose from a vast range of education providers.

By making accreditation costs more affordable worldwide, more organisations can benefit from an external review of their quality assurance processes and demonstrate that they meet BAC’s globally respected standards.

BAC is pleased to be able to offer a 70% discount on Inspection Management Fee and Annual Accreditation Fees for Low income countries and a 40% discount on Inspection Management Fee and Annual Accreditation Fees for Middle income countries.

Low Income, Middle Income and High-Income country categories are based on World Bank definitions which can be found at https://data.worldbank.org/.

BAC records will be updated on an annual basis.

The discounts will be applicable to institutions with a turnover (annual revenue) of £2 million or less.
